Mainetti expands Italian operations to provide sustainable solutions to retailers in Southern Europe

S Oliver, Esprit, and Superdry are some of the retail brands partnering on closed-loop recycling solutions

Mainetti have announced a new strategic expansion of their flexible packaging business in Italy, providing retailers with sustainable packaging solutions to regional and international retail brands.

Located in Southwest Italy Taranto, Mainetti Omaf, the new facility is 3.400 square meters and showcases the latest innovation in sustainable packaging in the fashion industry.

Mainetti launched Mainetti Polyloop in the UK and European market in April 2021, providing customers with a closed-loop recycling system for clear polyethylene film, which has seen a boost in the closed-loop recycling demand from retailers including Superdry, s.Oliver Group and Esprit.

Paul Withers, Global Head of Packaging, Mainetti, commented: “We officially opened our expanded operations in Mainetti Omaf on November 12, 2021. Today, nearly 50% of the bags in Mainetti Omaf were produced using Polyloop material. This expansion gives us good capacity to cope with retailers’ new needs and demands. It is also the company’s strategic move in order to deliver the five years growth plan in the flexible packaging vertical.”

For sixty years, Mainetti has been a trusted partner to the world’s most respected and well-known retail and apparel brands. Mainetti’s diversified portfolio includes Packaging, Branding, Supply Chain, Intelligent (RFID) Solutions and Health and Safety products.

Mainetti is a proud member of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and has recently committed to being Carbon Neutral in our operations going forward.
