Mainetti Expands its Asia Footprint With the Opening of its New High-Efficiency Facility in Northern Vietnam

Mainetti continues to expand its operations in Southeast Asia with its latest factory opening in Northern Vietnam that will produce sustainable flexible packaging solutions for regional and international retail brands

Hung Yen, Vietnam, September 24, 2025 – Mainetti, a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, has announced the opening of its new factory in the Hung Yen Province of Vietnam, based in Minh Quang Industrial Park. The opening marks a significant step in Mainetti’s continued expansion into Southeast Asia to deliver flexible packaging solutions to customers in the region and tap into a dynamic market. Spanning 5,000 square meters and set to employ 200 workers once operations are at full capacity, the facility is projected to produce up to 3,000 metric tons of bags annually (equating to approximately 360 million bags). The majority of the components for the bags will be made from recycled materials, helping to reduce carbon emissions, while high-speed, high-efficiency machinery will enable large-scale production. For example, the facility will utilize automated grip and stacking fixtures that will allow operators to multitask effectively, and real-time display panels that enhance visibility by showing the hourly output and production dimension settings.

Michelle Boon, Global Head of Flexible Packaging at Mainetti said: “We are proud to share the news of our expansion into Vietnam’s Hung Yen Province which will enable us to deliver responsible plastic packaging to our customers. Vietnam is a rapidly growing market, and we look forward to the facility operating at full capacity so we can better serve key customers – such as Gap Inc., Columbia Sportswear, Lululemon, and Amazon – while also allowing us to unlock new opportunities in the region.” Asia is a key business hub for Mainetti, and the company’s latest investment in Vietnam follows the recent expansion of its operations in Dhaka, Bangladesh in February 2024. This opening was part of the company’s ambitious five-year growth plan to expand into Asia and scale Mainetti Polyloop – a closed-loop recycling system for clear polyethylene film that is testament to Mainetti’s commitment to championing the circular economy. In Vietnam, Mainetti is prioritizing speed and efficiency to deliver its high-quality flexible packaging solutions with the use of 10-meter-tall blowing machines and by combining lines with steel structures that saves on space and enables operators to attend the machines more easily.
