Mainetti focuses its innovation efforts to address challenges in branding and packaging products, transporting those products throughout the world, and presenting them at retail. We develop intelligent labelling and connected packaging that carries a product’s record from material origin to the retail shelf. The Mainetti End2End Platform helps retailers and brands navigate complexities and complements our work in sustainable design, material science, circular processes, and inventory management.
The End2End Platform comprises three complementary solutions: the Digital Product Passport (DPP), a Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) tool, and an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) calculator.
The DPP helps retailers and brands satisfy regulatory requirements and track data across the product lifecycle while enabling a consumer to know where that product has beeen and its environmental impact. A Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) tool calculates the carbon emissions of a product and its associated components. All of this is supported by our Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) calculator, giving visibility to the impact of sustainable design and material choices on taxation for the retailer and brands.
From the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) to the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and Extended Producer Responsibility schemes worldwide, regulatory frameworks rest on one requirement: reliable, accessible and continuously updated product data.

The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a digital identity for every physical product, tracking data points from material sourcing and manufacturing through consumer use, repair and final recycling.
Legislation is catching up to consumers demand for more transparency into where and how and product is made. These consumers are making buying decisions based on the history of a product – from when it comes out of the ground or factory. They support brands that are aligned with their values. The DPP shines a light so the consumer can make a choice.
With Mainetti End2End DPP, brands can generate customer-facing landing pages without writing code, drawing on product data that is updated centrally as regulations and data requirements change.
The passport also becomes an ongoing consumer touchpoint for product information, storytelling and care guidance. Built-in analytics show which sustainability content resonates and how people behave beyond the point of sale, so teams can make better-informed sustainability and operational decisions.
The Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) tool measures a product’s environmental footprint across its entire lifecycle, from raw material extraction to end-of-life disposal.
This comprehensive view helps customers pinpoint hidden hot spots, cut carbon emissions, and drive meaningful sustainability improvements throughout the supply chain.
By integrating these assessments directly alongside the product record within a single, unified platform, organizations eliminate the need for disjointed spreadsheets. Impact data is preserved and can be instantly reused for corporate reporting, immediate customer inquiries, and sustainable design reviews, saving teams from rebuilding metrics for every individual request.
Furthermore, these automated results feed directly into both the digital product passport and the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) calculator. This seamless data flow guarantees one consistent, audited set of numbers to satisfy the distinct needs of compliance, marketing, and procurement teams.

The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Tax Tool shows the financial implications of packaging decisions at the design stage, before anything is produced.
This specialized calculator promotes cost transparency early in the design and material specification process. A retailer or brand owner can see how design choices impact both sustainability and tax burden in advance. By modelling different design and material options, the tool shows how switching materials, reducing weight or changing format would affect EPR tax liability. Teams can weigh sustainability goals against cost impact and choose with both numbers in front of them.
This platform bridges the traditional gap between creative design engineering and corporate fiscal planning. By integrating regulatory fee structures directly into the early workflows, businesses can proactively optimize their environmental footprint while defending their profit margins. It eliminates the expensive trial-and-error approach that often occurs when compliance issues are only discovered right before mass production.
This strategic foresight empowers cross-functional teams to confidently launch eco-friendly packaging that aligns with global regulatory mandates and long-term financial targets.
“The DPP is the heart of Mainetti’s End2End Platform, representing the next generation of digital product communication within a single ecosystem. We are giving retailers and brands the tools to navigate industry requirements and challenges with confidence, all while unlocking new opportunities to connect with consumers, strengthen transparency and create measurable business value.”
Mike Jones – Head of Innovation
Mainetti’s Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solutions revolutionise inventory management by going beyond simple product counting, enabling retailers to thrive in today’s competitive economy.
Our RFID technology gives store teams a live, item-level view of stock across the network, so replenishment, click-and-collect and ship-from-store all draw on the same reliable count. Tags are encoded and quality-checked in Mainetti facilities and can be paired with the Digital Product Passport, so one tag serves both operations and the consumer.

Mainetti offers a complete line of customised trim, packaging and intelligent labelling solutions for retailers and brands, with both UHF and NFC products certified for use with major RFID systems.
Labels, tickets and care labels are printed, encoded and verified to each retailer’s specification, then shipped from the region where the garments are made. NFC options let the same label carry a scannable link to the product passport, turning a compliance requirement into a direct channel to the shopper.
Mainetti’s RFID technology enhances customer experience, boosts conversion rates, optimizes omnichannel sell-through and increases store turnover.
By making retail processes more efficient, we free store teams from stock counts and back-of-house searching and give them time on the shop floor. Accurate inventory means fewer missed sales, cleaner markdowns and a single view of stock that online and in-store channels can both trust.

“The packaging industry is at a pivotal moment as legislation continues to evolve, reshaping how products are designed, manufactured and sold. Connected packaging is integral to managing these changes. By providing a scalable framework that adapts as requirements change, we are helping brands reduce the burden of compliance so they can focus on delivering innovation and value.”
Roberto Peruzzo – Chief Executive Officer

Sustainability sits at the core of everything we do, and we are committed to using the most sustainable materials possible across all of our businesses.
Our products are made from a variety of recycled and renewable sources. From flexible packaging films to mono-material boxes, Mainetti delivers innovative packaging that delivers real value to the brands and the end-consumer – improving overall quality of packaging while considering the end of life, and improving brand perception as a company that cares about its packaging choices.
Material choices are tested against the same data the End2End Platform reports on, so a switch made for environmental reasons can be checked against its lifecycle impact and its EPR cost before it reaches production. Today 73% of the energy powering Mainetti’s operations comes from renewable sources, under our Full Circle sustainability initiative.
When we say we are pioneers in the global circular economy, we mean it. For the last forty years Mainetti has been perfecting a circular business model through our patented Hangerloop™ and Polyloop processes.
Mainetti continues to invest in world-class factories focused on expanding plastic reuse and recycling capabilities globally. The company believes that Circularity and Reuse are good for business and good for the environment.
Hangerloop collects hangers from stores, sorts and inspects them, and returns them to the supply chain for reuse. Polyloop applies the same principle to polybags and film, recovering material that would otherwise be discarded. As a member of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Mainetti works with retailers to widen both loops across more markets and more product categories.
